USACE and SCDES Permit Applications

The project design has been updated to further minimize impacts to wetlands and critical areas. Therefore, the permit applications, Environmental Report and supporting documentation were updated to reflect the reduction in impacts and were resubmitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) in March 2025. Project Design

Right-of-way plans have been finalized and are currently under review by SCDOT.

Located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, Highway 41 is a key corridor connecting the traveling public along bustling US 17 in Charleston County to communities in Mount Pleasant and to I-526. The Highway 41 Corridor Improvements project is a top priority of Charleston County, the Town of Mount Pleasant, and the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
